If you are unsure about wanting to become a diver a Try Scuba is a great way to find out if SCUBA is for you. We have options to meet your schedule and needs. Check out our schedule of pre-planned dates at only $25 per person you can't go wrong. A little nervous, have your own group, or a crazy schedule? Give us a call and we can set up your own Private Try Scuba (rates vary depending on size of group). 

The best part is you will have all the SCUBA equipment on and get to feel the amazing sensation of flying and taking your first breaths underwater. We can show you a few of the basic scuba skills, like clearing your mask and retrieving your regulator. You will know in an instant that SCUBA is a fantastic adventure that you will want to embark on.

Open Water Diver Certification

At Neptune we keep our class size small, the average class has only 6 students, with that we will put an Instructor and Assistant Instructor to make sure we have a low student to instructor ratio. Our instructors love the sport of Scuba Diving and can not wait to share this adventure with you.

Knowledge
SSI’s modular, six-session teaching system includes a video, manual, text book, dive log and dive tables. And with SSI’s home study approach, you will be able to minimize your time in the classroom allowing for more time in the water developing ability and comfort.

Skills
In multiple pool and open water session, you will practice scuba skills with SSI’s exclusive Comfort Through Repetition teaching method. Some of the skills you will learn include:

  • Moving in the water with ease
  • Breathing normally under water
  • Controlling buoyancy so you descend or ascend comfortably
  • The easiest ways to enter and exit the water
  • Getting water out of your mask or mask clearing

Equipment
Since you can’t dive without equipment, there is extensive information on scuba equipment including:

  • Selecting the best diving equipment for your needs and budget
  • Maintaining and adjusting your equipment to extend its life and improve performance
Course Includes

  • 6 lecture and pool classes (in our warm indoor pool)
  • 6 open water dives (two days)
  • Low student to instructor ratio which allows for more personalized training (student-teacher ratio will not exceed 4:1)
  • SSI Digital Training Materials
  • Use of Mask, Snorkel, & Fins for the first 3 pool sessions (including demos of available equipment)
  • Use of Scuba Training equipment including BC, Regulator, Dive Computer, & Wetsuit for pool and OW dives
  • Surface Marker Buoy
  • Online certification card awarded upon course completion.
  • Special student discounts on all purchases at our dive center.
